Press Your Number

As I'm sure you've all gathered by now, I am incredibly SM biased so all it took was a simple request on youtube for me to go ahead and make a design for Taemin's solo comeback!

The music video for Press Your Number is definitely interesting and I didn't get bored of it after watching it again and again while I was planning this design. It's really colourful, the cinematography is great and obviously Taemin's dance parts were on point.

With that being said, I'm honestly not great at interpreting mvs (I'll leave that to the more enterprising fans who come up with fan theories) so I wasn't 100% sure about the concept behind the video. However, I did remember that Taemin said that the blue roses were important to the video, so I made those the focal point of the design and added to that.

As you can see, the lettering on the thumb doesn't exactly match what is seen in the mv (and the "press it" screenshot I put in the collage isn't even from the mv, it's from the highlight medley). The original plan was to have "Press Your Number" written on the thumb in red, but I made the letters in "press" too big and the rest of the sentence wouldn't have fit on the nail so I had to work with what I had.

I feel like lettering is getting easier though, after all the practice I've been getting with these kpop designs so I'm happy about that :P

Since this design was requested by someone on Youtube I obviously had to make a tutorial video for it. The tutorial covers all the individual elements of the design except for the thumbnail (because even if I'm getting better at lettering it's still a pain to do on camera).
