Argyle

I did a guest post for Nerdy & Fleurty this week!
You can check out the full post for that here, and you can see the condensed version below!

The purpose of this design was to try out the crushed velvet set that I got back in May and had yet to try.
My first attempt at this design was a few weeks ago, but I had done black, white, and grey plaid instead of the argyle. I wasn't very pleased with the look and decided to not post it. When I tried it again this time I thought it might be better to include the Maroon colour used under the velvet (Cabaret by Ciaté) and it definitely made all the difference! Using the Maroon in the design really brought the look together.

A few words of warning about the crushed velvet in case you're thinking of trying it:
a) It gets everywhere. Make sure all your other nails are dry before trying to apply the velvet.
b) It's cool and high coverage right when you put it on (like in these photos that were taken maybe 10 minutes after finishing the design), but after a few hours it starts to fall off. Don't count on long-term wear for this effect.

Products Used:
Ciaté - Cabaret
Essie - Grow Stronger Base Coat
Essie - Licorice
Sally Hansen - White On
Seche Vite - Quick Dry Top Coat
Ciaté Crushed Velvet
2mm Square Gold Studs
